So I am kind of a foodie. What that means to me is that I have an extreme interest in the production, preparation and consumption of food. I am not a person that lives to eat, I could eat once a day or less and be fine with that. Our consumption behaviors reveal a lot about us. If we just eat whatever and never consider how it is affecting our bodies and minds or ignore the effects, then how does this transfer into other areas of our lives?
Our food system is currently under attack, by corporations and the governments that support them and subsidize their industries. Our choices are being limited and our natural inclinations for certain tastes are being exploited by food product producers that pump their processed "foods" (just because you can eat it doesn't make it food) full of fats and sugars and use other processes to addict us to their exaggerated concoctions.
"Conventional" produce is now pesticide laden franken foods. And we aren't even given the right to know when they are genetically modified. Even though I eat organic I know that organic can be just another marketing tool and a price raiser. And then eating organic, how organic is it when it is flown to a hemisphere where it is out of season or driven across the country. We are revealed by what we do and how we do it. We make choices all of our waking lives.
We need a revolution to regain control over our food supply. We need food justice. Which I have defined as the pluralistic reclamation of the food system so that it simplistically represents and holistically honors the symbiotic relationship between production and consumption in order to make the information to cultivation equitable in its access and praxis regardless of socioeconomic status and any other boundary which has been erected in order to maintain oligarchical control over the supply of nourishment.
I will be discussing this with facts and elucidation of my definition in the future.
Below is a link that discusses high fructose corn syrup a food additive that should be watched avoided. Be well.

Why blog? Why La Vida Empirical?
I am never in the mood to do a bio of myself or display credentials. So I am not going to do that. I am what I am doing right now. I haven't been much of a blogger before, well not when it comes to complete control of what is posted and not having it be a response to something. Even though in a way it seems as though everything is just a response to something else, down to the vibrating molecules that are the underlying materials for everything. In a way, no matter what, I will always be responding or following something else, in coinciding moments with other beings throughout the universe, who are engaged in an experimental experience as well, where chemicals collide and create senses. I suppose I should answer the questions that I posed in the title of this blog.
Blogging is apparently a crack hit of euphoria for the ego, with residual thrilling aftershocks every time a comment comes in or someone mentions it or links it or even views it. But of course I'm special my blog will be different yadda yadda yadda blase wi. We shall see shan't we. It may annoy you but if it's a rhetorical question I may not put a question mark at the end. Because if you don't want an answer to a question then to me it becomes a statement. I am blogging because we all have something to say because we can't help but to gain experience, life experience in some way. Even if one's experience is having limited exposure and perpetual similarity in previous experiences. Another unique perspective that has something to share.
In the end I am trying to bring people together to resist this culture of unconscious capitalist consumption and create a world where the inhabitants holistically honor the symbiotic relationship between all living things, because that is what feels healthy to me. It is utopian dream as far as the hope that people's attitudes can shift toward sustainability and compassionate congress, considering where we are now. We didn't get to this point accidentally and we won't get beside it until we wake up and become aware.
La Vida Empirical refers to that which we can do with life even while living it. We observe. We are all experimenters in this experience with something to share.
